ACCUMULATION SYSTEMS

The common use for an accumulation conveyor is to act as a buffer zone between machines. Or, as an in process step, e.g. cooling or drying, or simply for elevation or loweration.

There are two main types of accumulators:

As an in-line accumulator which always is included in the transport path
As a by-pass accumulator which you connect to the transport path when temporary accumulation is necessary

Characteristics:

Long life
Reduced Maintenance
High up-time
Product Stability during transportation

Application examples:

Ability to produce during temporary machine stops
Reduce the effects of machine failures
Bottleneck machines can produce continuously
Can act as pack points for manual packaging
Connecting production lines that operate at different speeds
