ACCUMULATION SYSTEMS
The common use for an accumulation conveyor is to act as a buffer zone between machines. Or, as an in process step, e.g. cooling or drying, or simply for elevation or loweration.
There are two main types of accumulators:
- As an in-line accumulator which always is included in the transport path
- As a by-pass accumulator which you connect to the transport path when temporary accumulation is necessary
Characteristics:
- Small Footprint
- Long life
- Reduced Maintenance
- High up-time
- Product Stability during transportation
Application examples:
- Ability to produce during temporary machine stops
- Reduce the effects of machine failures
- Bottleneck machines can produce continuously
- Can act as pack points for manual packaging
- Connecting production lines that operate at different speeds
